A Welcome Face for the Visitor
Volunteers at the Visitors Center are the primary point of contact between CI and the public. They are responsible for maintaining/cleaning the Visitor Center, accepting payments for sales, membership processing, answering phone queries, internal research, and interpreting the museum displays to the public.
As such a friendly and outgoing disposition is an absolute must! Customer Service experience is highly recommended
Training Provided
While some knowledge of Cash handling and registers are preferred, we will be happy to teach you how to use our systems in the gift shop. The same is true for the exhibits and site history. As the first contact with the visitor, the volunteers in the VC need to be up to speed on their Conococheague Institute orientation and history
Membership and Recruitment
As a 501c3 Non Profit, our site is supported by our loyal Members and donations. As such volunteers in the Visitor Center should be able to show new visitors the benefits of Annual Membership and sign them up to help our constant growth.
