We’re so proud of the success of our Animal Husbandry on the Frontier initiative that launched in 2025. Like the animals themselves, this program will continue to grow for years to come thanks to tremendous community support.

A special thank you to Americana Corner, and its Preserving America Partners program, the Franklin County Community Foundation TFEC, and Lappans Springs Farm for helping make this opportunity possible.

Starting small, our program currently features Nigerian Dwarf goats (Carmella and Hawthorne) and Black Welsh Mountain sheep (Deuce, Hannah, and Harleah). Over time, we have the potential to expand our livestock to include cows, horses, pigs, chickens, and even bees, reflecting the rich variety of animals found on historic frontier farms.

An integral part of our education bookings and living history programs, these animals truly bring our homestead to life to thousands of visitors.

Become a GOAT GIVER or SHEEP SUPPORTER by donating towards their ongoing care. Everyday our animal team gives them feed, water, fresh bedding and important snuggles, thanks to people like you

All donations are tax-deductible and you'll receive a personal thank you note from the animals. Heritage level donors are invited for a special in the pen meet and greet with the animals.
