Tracing your Roots
The Conococheague Institute has long been known for helping people discover their family roots through Genealogical research. Our Library has an entire room dedicated to local families, and many past researchers have been kind enough to leave copies of their own research. When searching for your family history you may be lucky to find that a lot of work has already been done!
Our Family History extends far further than just the families of Rock Hill Farm but to neighboring Counties and even States!
While the best research is done in the Library, some pre-work can be done online.
CI holds a wonderful copy of the "Palmer Papers" an extensive Genealogical work, and in more recent years the index was digitized.
Download the Index at the link below.
Palmer Papers Index
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The index contains keywords and family names, with their corresponding page number in the papers. Open the document and search your family name. If you would like to see that information from the page, you can schedule an appointment by contacting us. We are also able to provide small amounts of information via email. For more information contact visit@cimlg.org
If planning a research library appointment, please contact us several weeks in advance. Due to a high education booking season, there may be a delay on when staff can be scheduled in the library.
